About Me, for today

I have recently stopped working, for many reasons, most of all I needed some time out.  I have a few ideas of where to go from here, but am still at the ideas stage with many of them.

As I said in my first ever post, I look to our dog Wilson for guidance as I step into the great unknown (for me) of self employment!  Wilson lives every moment of every day as a brand new start, every morning he wakes up with such enthusiasm about what might be in store for the day.  Every time we go out, he is so excited he can’t wait to get out the door.  Every time we come home, even if it is 5 minutes later, he can hardly contain himself with excitement for the door to open to let him back in.

This is how I plan to approach my new life. Every day will be Day One.

I have so many things I have wanted to do ‘in my spare time’ ‘in the holidays’ ‘at the weekend’ ‘when I get time’. So many things I need to do to get my myriad of new ventures off the ground both in theory and in practice. So many other bits and pieces that I keep putting off ‘until the summer’ ‘until it gets warm’ ‘until I have a day at home’ ……

This is it. Today is that day!

Let’s go Wilson!

When we don’t overdo it during the daytime, I will post what Wilson & I (and the rest of our family Husband, Teenager (15) & Teenager (almost 18), Lilly our cat (8ish) and Myrtle our Tortoise (6) ) have been up to!

Today I have managed to add a ‘Flag Counter‘ to the side of my blog 🙂 Very Chuffed with myself.  If anyone needs help with it, there is an answer on the forum by timethief that really helped me;

How to add a flagcounter

Now I need to work out how to add an ‘About Me’ tab to the top of the page, but first I’m going to add a ‘Post a Week’ badge (fingers crossed)

Update

I managed to make a Page of this post and added the following, which I am including here now since my ‘about me’ page needs an update after my first year of blogging 🙂

I love taking photographs.  I have always had an instant camera since my first Kodak Instamatic with 110 film when I was about 14.  It is a lot easier to take good photographs now.  I don’t have to worry about developing costs, and I can see my mistakes instantly.  I have pretty big memory cards (4 & 8GB), so have my camera at the highest resolution, and take scores of photos the same thing until I am happy that I have done my best. Then when I get time, I trawl through the thousands of photos I have collected and usually find about 10 that I am happy with.

My family get very annoyed with me on walks as I am constantly stopping to take photos, but I want to learn to take good pictures, and the best way is through trial and error. I love my camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8.  It is a great pocket camera and has really fast reaction times, but my lens is scratched :(  I would love another one but I would also love to learn how to use an SLR!

The gallery contains mostly photos of me, at my wedding & graduation. Again I had lots of photos to chose from so it was much easier to come up with some that I like!

When I get time I will load some of my travel photos, when I get time…….  In the meantime, please click on any of them to see larger versions

    Well done you! I love the dress by the way, where did I see one like that before….. was it in the famous ‘Swaps Bag’? I think I have a photo somewhere.

      Thank you! The dress is actually a pair of extremely versatile ‘Harem Pants’ which can be worn as shown in the picture as a lovely baggy one piece, or with a top as either baggy shorts or trousers. They are incredibly light and ideal for holidays in got countries. They are so versatile you can actually pull the elasticated bit up to above your shoulders & get changed underneath in complete safety & privacy!
      Perfect for our weather here which changes from rainstorm to sauna in the space of a few hours 🙂
