Looking for ‘Green’ in November when surrounded by beautiful reds and browns and golds, reminds me of the first line of a Robert Frost’s Poem; ‘Nature’s first green is gold’
On our 4 hour hike yesterday up and down all over Box Hill in Dorking, I saw plenty of hues of gold, and then I glimpsed my first frost…..
I decided it was a sign for me to share one of my favourite poems, and some other photos from the day that are not completely green! π
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
by Robert Frost
Enjoy the colours from yet another beautiful November day!

and my first post on the Challenge: Green
Like this photo, it’s as if the frost hugs the leaf to save it. Great poem too.

One of my favourites, I found it in a book, ‘The Outsiders’ by SE Hinton when I was a teenager & have always loved it

You are looking for green and I am envious of the blue skies. I do love the frost trimmed leaves and the contrast with the wet ones below.

Loved the walk with you. Why box hill? Is it shaped like a square?

It’s got to do with the ‘Box Hedge’ that populates the side of the hill: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buxus_sempervirens
