I love wood cuts, Elly has a brother in law who make wonderful bowls from wood. I also like the drift wood, is the top one meant to be a sculpture? I see a man bent over, head in hands balancing on an elbow!

The driftwood are just that, I keep them cos I like the shapes. We spend a lot of time by the sea, so I have a garden full of oddments. I should really varnish them, as they all eventually become a part of the garden at the moment.

Would oiling them be a better way to preserve them? Jack always put yacht varnish on our front door, but the sun bleached the bottom half white. Nowadays I use teak oil or sometimes baby oil, it seems to work better.

It might indeed. Yacht varnish is really expensive. I oiled one of my chopping boards and it has kept it beautifully, so that’s probably a great idea. Will let you know
