Green is NOT my favourite colour. I may have mentioned this before.
However there are some things that do look particularly good in green, mainly flora and some reptiles. Not Barbaras. Barbaras do NOT look good in green.
I am quite a fan of reptiles, though not really snakes. I find tortoises and lizards cute, and crocodiles. I know theoretically that crocodiles are not cute, but I still find them cute. Cats should be cute, but I find them very sharp. Especially our cat Lilly-Plankton who likes to wake me up by opening my eyes with her paws. They are very sharp!

Day One 
Does the Telefón work? Did it have a receiver as heavy as the old one in Nana’s? I passed quickly through the first four… You can mind the animals!

I’m sure it does, but it’s one of those new modern ones that takes cards & all & it didn’t have the A and B buttons, and you can’t ‘tap’ it 😦
The handle was way lighter than Nana’s (although I have a feeling it was Dan’s phone, it was on his desk!)

You would have thought that someone might have mentioned my hair to me before the photo was taken!! I used to wear it like that in Maths as pouring over the questions my hair used to get in my eyes! I do it nowadays when working at home, but my children won’t let me out of the house with my hair sticking up in the air.

Lol, I don’t think endearing would have been the look I was gong for at 18… I don’t know what I was thinking? All my school photos are the same, I’m the gawky one in the corner of the back row with the orange hair!

I was wondering, now that you have had your new camera for a few months – what are your thoughts about it now?

I completely love it, but I must admit that I haven’t used half of its functions yet. I have been really ill since before Christmas and after coming home from holidays I hardly went out at all. I am only getting back on my feet now, and the weather is quite cold and wet at the moment so not getting any photography time in at the moment.
The auto function is so good, and the ‘scenes’ setting is brilliant so I haven’t had to learn the other functions much. I really need a good book or a DSLR camera course to help me to learn how to use it to its full capability and to learn computer editing.
I have taken my first step… My computer is grinding to a halt because of all the photos stored on it, so I bought myself a 1TB external hard drive yesterday so I can free up some space for a photo editing program, which I know takes loads of space!
I will get there eventually, and when I start learning properly, I will blog my progress
In the meantime, as a starter DSLR the camera is absolutely perfect 🙂 I only took one of the above photos with it, the telephone box, and that was a drive-by in the rain!

I am getting better, I really feel it now, I’ve just been ill for so long I have to take it really easy & I’m not good at that!!
My model of camera is extremely cheap for its specification, check out CNET camera reviews. If you are thinking about DSLR but lie me don’t know much about it, then my camera is deal. They are called ‘bridge’ cameras because they bridge the divide between compacts and SLR’s. Mine was £270 at Christmas and £250 when I replaced it in January, and this is amazing value for such a good camera

Thank you! A bridge type camera is good for me. I like excellent auto functions but also like to play with the settings in those unique circumstances. My current camera is all auto with a very limited zoom – 8x

Now that’s what I call a zoom. My old one was 12x which was darn good for an older model bridge camera but it was heavy to carry around. The great think about my pocket camera is that it really does fit in my pocket. It is a Panasonic too and I love it for what it is.

Definitely bring the compact too! And make sure you get a well padded bag for the ‘superzoom’ 🙂
My old panasonic was 12x too, maybe its the same camera? My only problem with it is that the lens is scratched 😦
