Weekly Photo Challenge: The World Through Your Eyes

This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is The World Through Your Eyes

As a foreigner (although I have lived more of my life in London than in Dublin) I always get a thrill from going into central London and seeing iconic sights.  It is even better by boat as I am able to take photos outdoors without the fear of getting run over, or having people walk in front of the camera.  I have posted a few of my pictures of Big Ben in a previous photo challenge

Here are a few more of my photos of London, through my eyes 🙂

These are all great, Barbara, but he two of Big Ben are exquisite.

So you still have outdoor telephones in London? We are hard-pressed to find a pay phone over here anymore.

      Thank you 🙂

Yes, we still have them, though there are far less of them than there used to be, and they are nearly always in very public places to help prevent vandalism.

In tourist areas they are the old fashioned red ones, all the normal ones are stainless steel

Very nice photos. We were in London a couple of weeks ago and walked from Victoria Station up the south bank to the Tower Bridge and over to St Paul’s and saw most of these sights. I like your banner head. I think we have the same type of tortoise. Actually we have two, Jolly and Juliette. Is Myrtle an African hinge back?

      Hi, thanks for visiting 🙂

I have been told that Myrtle is a Greek Spur Thighed tortoise. I would love to get her a friend, but she is a bit of a bully so she might hurt him. I should really have got two when she was a baby!

      Do you breed yours?

If you Google both breeds they look a lot alike. No we don’t breed them. We got Juliette a few years after Jolly and tried to keep them together but they would fight. So the each have their own terrarium.

That’s what I thought might happen, i think you need to buy breeding pairs at the same time. Myrtle bullies everyone & everything, even filing cabinets!

Really enjoyed your photos. Haven’t been to London in years even though I’m at the airport every year.
