This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is Fresh
As I said in my last post for this challenge this week we have been experiencing the third week of a wonderful heatwave and nobody is complaining as we have had enough of wet cold summers.
In the last few days some thundery showers have arrived, lots of lightning, heavy downpours, humidity. Again we are not used to this, but our gardens are very glad of the rain!
We have a Catalpa tree in our garden which has beautiful big pale leaves which we tend to sit under when the sun gets too hot (even for mad dogs and Englishmen) Last night we had a lot of rain, and today it’s beautiful orchid-like flowers have come into full bloom
I only wish I could smell them!
The other flowers that I love that are in flower at the moment are my red flowers (whose name has completely gone from my brain for the moment! Please help!!) and our anemone flowers
Here are some more of my photos of the flowers this morning, click on any of them to see a larger version
Red flowers = crocosmia/montbretia. 😀

Lilly occupies the space Wilson (our cocker spaniel doesn’t) He was out with Peter this morning so she appeared.
The garden looks country like, but we live in an estate in a town, so our garden is long and narrow. It looks bigger because there are lots of different plants & trees and we have made lots of places to sit & look at it from different angles. It’s a little oasis

These are beautiful, Barbara. You brought some sunshine to our overcast day here.
I’m glad you explained the last photo. For a moment, I thought Wilson had morphed into a cat!

Wilson actually does…. when the dog’s away the cat appears 🙂 Usually within seconds. She rarely gets it wrong either!

Wow, your photos are stunning. I love flowers. So much of the landscaping on my little village on the prairie tends to be rock and bush. Very few flowers to enjoy, so looking at yours is a real treat.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and letting me follow you home!

Lily looks like Pinkie, Ello’s cat who was 18 on Saturday.

Lily is about 10. She was going to live I a grand old age until we got Wilson who gives her a heart attack on a daily basis! Maybe the exercise will be good for her? Who knows!

What beautiful images, they are like taking a walk through a refreshing garden. I do think the white ones resemble freshly washed sheets!
