Thistles… for a second I thought this was a Dubliners Tongue Twister (Three Thistles) but in fact I see now there are actually four, so panic over!
I was going to post this for Cee’s fun foto challenge this week, since the natural successor to three is four, but it doesn’t quite fit, so I will post this in My Best Photo of the Week instead 🙂 Thanks Donna xxx
Nice. Love the vibrant colours and texture. Finding it hard to tell how big they are in reality.

Big enough to be quite prickly! the stems are about 3ft tall, and the flowers are about 3″ tall. Big thistles, stunning colours 🙂

That is big… I keep having this idea that they are supposed to be minuscule… because the plants that we have looking like that over here are.. well tiny! 😛 Thanks for sharing. They are stunning 🙂

I’m sure they are cultivated rather than wild, the wild ones are usually smaller, though you do get some this size!

What a range of beautiful colors the thistles have! I really like the organic shapes of the thistles in the foreground against the texture, color and linear quality of the brick wall. Really nice capture.
