Our horrible wet weather is continuing (except mine & Peter’s weather will definitely improve from Tuesday!) There are flood warnings all over the country, and today there are 10 around the area of the Thames near where we live.
Yesterday there was only one warning near us, and the river is continuing to rise.
Today the flood warnings mention river levels like those seen in 2003. This is the first time I have heard 2003 mentioned with respect to flooding round here, it is the worst I remember. My photos from then are in my post from last January.
Here is what the Environment Agency warning says;
The river and flooding forecast is as follows: The River Thames remains very high and is continuing to rise slowly in the Hamm Court and Hamhaugh Island area. Flooding of properties close to the river is expected. River levels are currently expected to be higher than those seen during November and December 2012 and close to those of January 2003. The weather forecast is to expect a day of sunshine and showers today with some potentially heavy showers tonight that should clear by Wednesday morning.
These are incredible pictures. Hope this is the worst of it.
Have fun in Australia. I’m miss ya.

The Enviroment Agency (kind of the FBI of rivers) say that the waters are still rising & they will reach levels of 2003. I didn’t take good photos then, but it was another foot or so higher than it is today…maybe it will make it before next Tuesday, but I hope not for the people who have houses along the river!
I’m going to miss blogging! I might have to sneak off to a library to post once or twice!

Ha! My bedroom is a huge pile of things i want to bring! My suitcase is nowhere near big enough for half of them, or my medicines!! Packing will be fun!
It might be a bit hot for you… temperatures in Perth are currently 41′ and Melbourne is about 31′

Scary images. I was watching the news tonight and can’t comprehend the ongoing storms that you experience. We, here in Belgium, have very mild weather so far although it us predicted to change next week. Good luck and hope you sill not have any issues.

Yes they seem crazy, especially along the coast where the high winds combined with high tides are causing absolute havoc! The cycle of storms seems unrelenting. The weather in London is a lot quieter than the rest of the country but we still have lots of floods & trees down!
