California Quail

When we first saw these birds in Australia we thought they had got leaves caught in their heads like Wilson does when he roots around in bushes

Californian QuailIt was only when we saw lots of them that we realised that their fabulous headgear was there by design!

This is my strange and wonderful ‘pet’ for this week’s Weekly Pet Challenge 🙂
