I have been trying to work out how to take close up photos with my camera, and today I finally took one I like!
So I invite you to become lost in the detail of my Orchid;
I have 2 orchids now, one which I rescued from a bin which is currently sporting 12 stunning white flowers. Will post a photo of her another day
New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.
2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
3. Subscribe to The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.
That is beautiful! I love the way the light plays on the cells (?) plumped with water within the petals.

This is so wonderful – there are a lot of details in that classic flower – elegance is another word for it. Thank you for sharing this special flower

Yes, some people don’t like Orchids but I love them. I’ve had this one for about 8 years. it’s hard to get them to flower over & over, but I’ve managed it with this one & my other rescued one now too

I love the look of Orchids. Alas, plants and cut flowers do not like my house and die within days, so I give away any flowers I am given.

I was like that, but I have managed to keep this one for ages, and I rescued another one from the bin at work which now has 12 flowers!!!
I think it’s just orchids though, the rest of my flowers don’t do so well
