As I said in my first ever post, Wilson, our black cocker spaniel, lives every moment of every day as a brand new start, every morning he wakes up with such enthusiasm about what might be in store for the day. Every time we go out, he is so excited he can’t wait to get out the door. Every time we come home, even if it is 5 minutes later, he can hardly contain himself with excitement for the door to open to let him back in.
This is how I try to approach life. Every day is Day One.
I have so many things I want to do ‘in my spare time’ ‘in the holidays’ ‘at the weekend’ ‘when I get time’. So many things I need to do to get my myriad of new ideas and ventures off the ground both in theory and in practice. So many other bits and pieces that I keep putting off ‘until the summer’ ‘until it gets warm’ ‘until I have a day at home’ ……
This is it. Today is that day!
My blog has evolved since I started it, I’m not sure what I expected it to be, but it is also about;
- Sharing my Photographs
- Learning to use my camera
- Places we visit here & abroad
A little about me… I am;
- A mum
- I teach Maths and I teach adults to use computers
- I’m a red-headed Irish
girlwomanladypersongirl - I have an MSc in Physics
- I teach teenagers and adults with Dyslexia, and Autism Spectrum Disorders
- I work for Barnardos
- I am my children’s taxi driver & bank
My philosophy;
- Living one day at a time
My Family;
- Husband Peter, 2 teenage daughters, Wilson our Cocker Spaniel, Lilly Plankton our cat and Myrtle our tortoise
Lilly Plankton (our cat) & Wilson don’t co-exist in the same space-time continuum, but here is proof of her existence all the same;

When I was studying quantum mechanics, Lilly was helping me with Schroedinger’s ‘Cat in a Box’ theory
Here are some posts that might help you get to know a little bit more about me;

hi. nice site. a photography tip – Colonial buildings at Freemantle – they appear to be leaning forward because the camera was tilted upwards. Something to do with perspective. The professionals used to have a “shift lens” to correct this, we can only stand further away and zoom in. cheers

Do Lilly and Myrtle get along 🙂 I have a gopher turtle in my yard, affectionately dubbed Wendell.

Yes, they mostly ignore each other, and Myrtle often tries to walk through Lilly when she is sunbathing in the garden. Lilly is black so Myrtle I guess thinks where she is is just a shadow space! Wilson however sometimes gets a bit jealous and has recently taken to eating Myrtle’s food!! He must be the only dog on the planet who eats salad!!
