Low October sunshine on Box Hill

Box Hill is a summit of the North Downs in Surrey, approximately 30 km (19 mi) south west of London. The hill takes its name from the ancient box woodland found on the steepest west-facing chalk slopes overlooking the River Mole.

We went for a 6 mile walk there yesterday, the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm, a very uncharacteristic 20’C for October!  We walked most of the way in t-shirts!

  2. What an anchorage! Like the panoramic view, the wide expanse. Wonderful colours.

It’s beautiful in this weather… often in the UK anchorages like this can be bleak and a wet cold journey in a dinghy to get to them! Apparently our good weather is set to last for a few weeks though, so places like this will come into their own
