Egg 11 was quite difficult to photograph as it was displayed in a shop window, and not easy to ‘get at’ to get a good view, and it needed some good pictures as the detail was lovely. I took quite a lot of photos but they all don’t do the egg justice as I wasn’t able to avoid window reflections and busy backgrounds.
Despite the fact that I’m not happy with my photos of this egg, it still makes me hungry to look at it!
If I could have photographed it better this probably would have been one of my favourites.
Egg 11; Anticipation of a Thousand Moments was designed by Anna Barlow. On the Big Egg Hunt page it says that Anna is fascinated by the culture of celebrational food and of how food tells a story of the people it’s for and place it’s in. A full stand of melting ice creams could suggest a hot day or treats abandoned for some mysterious reason

I saw Anna Barlow’s work at Collect recently – it’s great! (There’s a picture of one of her works in my blog post on Collect if you’re interested).

It’s probably why the egg was in such an inaccessible place…. they didn’t want people licking it!

When you said it was behind glass, my thought was “Is it made of chocolate like the only one I saw in the Dublin Egg hunt?”. It was made of Chocolate. 880,000 gms of Chocolate. http://www.grannymar.com/blog/2013/03/23/photographing-the-alphabet-e-part-two/
