Let there be light!

We are really lucky, we have a lovely south facing garden, so in summer (if the sun comes out) it is full of light and sun!  The only shadow on the horizon has been caused by some huge Leylandii trees in the garden of our neighbours a few houses down.  When we moved in they were big, but 12 years later at about 40ft (12m) high they really throw a huge shadow on our garden in the afternoon.

Our neighbours tried to thin down the trees, but they could not afford to get them cut down.  Recently new people moved into the house, and within weeks I woke to the sound of chainsaws!

Half way there

By the evening I couldn’t remember how much ‘tree’ had been there before, and by the next afternoon the skyline was clear!

The afternoon sun can come into our garden again

Once the sun rises slightly on the horizon again we will have afternoon sun in our garden for most of the year 🙂

Send that guy over to me, I need some of my trees topped before I lose the view completely!

Lol, I don’t think they’ll do it! This was a council exchange & the new tenants managed to persuade the council to do it. The previous tenants had tried over and over but couldn’t get the council to budge!
