I was very excited turning on our Christmas Decorations this week at home, but once I found this house I think my house looks a little bit under-dressed!

What do you think?
The top photo is the one I had prepared for My Best Photo of the Week but now the post fits perfectly with this week’s photo challenge: Community!

Yours looks very homey and inviting. Mind if I come in for a cup of grog?

Next time your electricity bill comes in, you will be happy not to have gone overboard. George’s uncle has elaborate decorations on the house and all across the garden every year. He does it in aid of charity leaving a box at the gate for donations. The first year the electricity bill for the winter quarter was more than the full twelve months of the previous year.
In my book, less is more.

Goodness! I can’t imagine they make that much for the charity do they? Definitely Less is more!!

All donations go to charity. I know Roy got a shock the first year. He still does it so people must be generous.

I guess they must! My electricity bill is well over £500 and I have a tiny house & cook with gas & have gas heating & hot water. I dread to think!!

My electricity is just under £350 per annum. I cook with it, my oil heating needs electricity to work the pump. I do not have a dishwasher, tumble dryer or TV, so maybe that helps.

I’m sure the myriad of computers, device chargers, Wifi and the dishwasher all drive my bill up, plus the TV and set top box! Hopefully 5 weeks in the sun will save us a bit this year 🙂

That five weeks should make a big difference during the heavy quarter for electricity.
Do enjoy and I look forward to some wonderful photos.

The first house certainly looks very sparkly and festive… but I imagine there will be quite a bit of work packing it all up when the holiday season is over. I’m hope the neighbours are enjoying it since they will see it more often then somebody in the house, woohoo Xmas spirit!! 😛

Lol, my friend lived opposite one of these once, they all moved to the back of the house once the lights came on so they could sleep!!

Lol, I think it was fine early evening, but it us a bit like having the emergency services outside at night!!
