Yesterday Wilson didn’t get to come swimming with us in Hampton Open Air Pool as they don’t allow dogs, even Water Spaniels. Today, despite grey foreboding clouds we decided to take Wilson for a long walk to try and work off some of the mince pies and have a look at the river following the recent heavy rains.
The river was far too fast flowing to allow Wilson to swim in it, but he really wanted to swim and kept trying to go in! Eventually we found a huge puddle which would have come up to our knees and let him swim there.
We couldn’t walk past Walton Marina as the water was too deep, but by the time Wilson had finished playing in his puddle the sun had come out so I got a chance to take some photos

The Environment Agency forecasts that the water levels will rise over the next few days. Our house is clear of the flood plain, but we have seen huge flooding here in 2002. If the flooding increases I will post more photos.
From the Environment Agency on 26 Dec 2013 at 16:37; River levels are still rising on the River Thames and will continue to do so for at least 24 hours. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected. The weather forecast is to expect outbreaks of rain tonight and through tomorrow morning. This should clear to leave a drier afternoon.
Beautiful pictures! And a very cute dog.

I’m thinking the hair dryer got quite a workout after this walk.

We carried him from the front door to the bath & gave him a warm shower, then we wrapped him up in lots of towels and then his doggy bag & he fell sound asleep for the rest of the evening 🙂

He is adorable 🙂 Just before we said ‘bedtime!’ he was lying on his back on the floor legs akimbo snoring, a complete softie
