Daily Reflections

20121006-211307.jpg

I took this photo today during our walk beside The Broadwater, which is really near our house. The walk beside the lake was really overgrown for years, but now that they are reclaiming some of the water meadows beside the Thames in their construction of Walton Bridge the path has been cleared a little to provide more recreation space.

Being water meadows, wellies are always a good idea, even in mid summer. A lot of the path is below the level of the lake.

I love the reflection of the leaves in the almost completely still water.

I took lots of photos today, it will be even more beautiful once the leaves start to turn!

      Lol

I turned it upside down and then showed it to everyone & nobody noticed. I find it hard to find it in my album of photos from that day even though its the only upside down one!

The apartments & sky are much more obvious in the reflection. It was only when I turned the picture upside down that I noticed the apartments, they weren’t visible at all (I thought) from where I was standing!

The upside down shot works so well because of the sky, I think. It’s in the ‘right’ place in the upside down version and so fools the eye very well; it’s what one expects! Wonderful!

You have a great imagination, Barbara. Gave me a chuckle. Your photo reveals the beauty of nature, a great place to reflect on the wonder of nature.

Yes, even when I posted the two photos beside each other it wasn’t obvious. I only know which one is right way up as the sky is much bluer in the water than it is in real life! I love how they are so interchangeable, going to try and do something similar tomorrow if the light is ok, fingers crossed 🙂
