I have thought about doing something like this for a really long time, but always the second the thought came into my head it ran for the exits as fast as its little feet could carry it!!
Recently I have started getting fit again at last. When I say started, I mean…. I did 2 weeks and then injured my Achilles’ tendon which is only just healing (sorry), and now I have a reoccurrence of my sinus infection which incapacitated me for weeks in April. But the thought won’t go away! It keeps getting stronger!
So I’ve decided, I’m not going to train for the 2013 one. That’s a bit too soon considering I’m only managing an average of one day a week so far!
2014 Winchester to Salisbury cross-country marathon here I come!
Now it’s official! I’ve hit he ‘Publish ‘ button!!
12.12.12.12.12 🙂

I’m not sure where the idea of a marathon has come from… it just sticks in my head these days!! The longest I have ever run is about 7 miles. I used to do it about once a week about 11 years ago before i got my Fibromyalgia. The longest races I have ever done are like you say, 5k 🙂
At least i have given myself a target of 2014 rather than 13!!

You could try for a half marathon first and then up the stakes. I am happy to watch from the side lines. climbing ladders to paint is enough exercise for me these days.

well yes, that is the plan…. but i don’t want to enter for the 2013 half marathon just yet as I can’t run upstairs at the moment!!!

Hope you are still on the mend. I feel your pain with the sinus infection, when it happens to me the headache won’t let me function.

it’s awful & i think getting worse. From 2am to 3am last night was just hell. In the end I had taken far too many tramadol & codeine but had to to sleep!
I have to go out at 11am today, so got up at 7 to take painkillers. No change by 8 so took different ones & then went into hot steamy shower for 45mins, then got dressed & climbed back into bed for another hour.
Have just got up & feel slightly better, but dizzy. Im sure I shouldn’t be driving but today I have to. Seeing specialist tonight at 4.20pm. If he recommends euthanasia I will be very happy!

Just noticed you have tried the shower I suggested for headaches. I’m guessing it doesn’t work well for you.

It helps, sometimes. Steam is good for sinus problems, heat is good for pain, so hot showers usually help a bit. Note to self, move to warm country!
