This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is The World Through Your Eyes
Last week I posted a photo that I had taken of a blue Geranium, and I mentioned that this photo was the result of a single shot not the hundreds that I normally have to take to get a photo that I am happy with. After having taken that photo, my camera’s battery ran out, so it really was a one shot wonder!
I decided that my camera was becoming so good (it has to be the camera that is improving at taking photos, not me) that from here on in she deserves personalisation.
This week I wanted to take a photo of some lovely Californian poppies for a different post I am writing, and again the weather was not with me. I had several cloudy days in succession, and then finally a day with some sunny patches, but with strong breezes and fast moving clouds…. I would have to chose my moment.
I saw the sun appear so I rushed outside with my camera and starting taking photos. The sun was too bright, and the poppies kept blowing in the wind. I tried a few manual settings with pretty disastrous results, so I decided to hand the photography skills over to my camera and turned the dial to auto. I tried to focus on the moving flowers, but my camera (who now deserves a name) came up with this photo instead;
Having captured such an amazing photo for me, my camera now needs a name. Has anyone got any good names for cameras?
Camelia or Calder Camera have a ring to them.

I thought i replied to this…. I don’t like the name Camilla, or Camelia…. I’m not sure why they remind me of soap??
Why Calder?

There used to be a Camay toilet soap when I was young, or perhaps it has something to do with a certain Duchess?
All small stuffed animals in your house had a name beginning with the same first letter as their genre. I seem to remember an elephant called Everard. That was how Elly’s squirrel got the name Sammy!

Calder was an unusual Boys name, I was giving you a choice of sex for your camera. Everything I have has a boys name – my laptop is Tobias!

Aha, that explains it 🙂 Also there was a bully in my primary school called Carmel
I don’t remember the alliterative teddies! Mine were Bimbo & Humphrey, and my Pyjama case was called Dusty, and my Rabbit was called Rabbit. My doll was Gillian. Maybe Jennifer had more alliterative ones?

How about “Busy Bee?”

It’s not a very girly name… Bea maybe? Or Bee Tricks?

If it’s girly you want, Matilda is always nice.

I’m not sure if you know the poem? Matilda by Hilaire Belloc, it was in an anthology of poems for children that my dad used to read to me when I was little

Yes, I do. I remember my kids watching the animated version and then I believe there was an actual movie version also.
