Sunset in Perth

The sun setting on our first day south of the Equator

We have arrived!!

The first flight would have been great as the Boeing 380 is huge, apart from the fact the fact that we were stuck on the plane at Heathrow for 2 and a half hours because they were doing routine maintainance on the upper deck!  So altogether we were sitting on the plane for 16.5 hours!

Then when we got to Singapore our plane had been held for us thankfully, but it meant we literally got off one and back on another without a break.

The planes were a lot more comfortable than ones we had flown to India on before so the flights were much more pleasant, but we were still very grateful to get off at the end & have a shower when we got to our friends house!

We went for a short walk to the beach & dipped our toes in the deliciously warm Indian Ocean, and then went to bed for about 14 hours!

Feeling much better now!

PS very glad they did the routine maintainance on the plane… We read in the paper on the way that the same flight last week had had to make an emergency landing at Azerbaijan because they lost cabin pressure, so a 2 1/2 hour delay is better than that!!

  4. Always frustrating when there is
a delay, but guess rather that than an emergency landing in some weird country, or not arriving at all !
