Surprise!

Today was my daddy’s birthday, he reached three score and ten.  Mum planned a lunch with some of their friends and my sister, and I secretly flew over last night and stayed with my sister.  I had also posted over his present to reduce suspicion, and I rang him this morning from my mobile to wish him happy birthday so he wouldn’t know I was in the country.

We all met at the restaurant to wait for the birthday boy to arrive, and his face when he saw me at the table was brilliant.  We had a really lovely day, stuffing ourselves on wonderful food and lashings of cake and chocolates.  I surprised my godmother later on in the day as she came over to wish dad happy birthday & hadn’t realised I was over.  I hadn’t seen some of mum & dads friends for ages, and even the recent ones, the last time was our wedding, which is nearly 2 years ago!

A great day all round, and I am writing this now at 1.20am as I am still on a sugar high!

I normally hate surprises, but surprises like that are just wonderful. YOu were probably his best present for the day.
I have to ask what is three score and ten?
