The second Egg in my egg-alphabet is entitled ‘A Common History‘. A coincidence that the first two eggs have the word history in their titles.
I’m not really sure what the meaning of this one is, but maybe I will reflect on it a bit more having posted it here. I’m certainly thinking a lot about the first egg, …an uncertain daily history, especially following on from Al‘s suggestion that it might represent the Holocaust?
There is definitely an image of a train with bars as windows, a tank, a symbol that could be the Star of David, and a rally with a leader in a train of cars with crowds of people around, although if that was supposed to represent Hitler I would have expected the man in the first car to look more like Hitler as he was an easy image to caricature.
This egg is by David Mackintosh
What do you think of it?
This one looks like something I might be able to do.

Lol, drawings like this look deceptively simple…. given a large white egg and a black and red indelible marker I suspect there would be a wobbly space round the back where the drawings just didn’t match up! Saying that if we could draw them in pencil first we could probably manage it. I don’t see the connection between the title and the images…

I see it as our world today, full of faceless people with all the things we have around us.

That’s a bit depressing!! I really don’t like the images of people without faces, it reminds me of a scary Dr Who episode. Childhood trauma 🙂

Barbara, nowadays many people stay hidden behind their keyboards and we never see their faces.
