I’ve got a job! :-)

Sorry I’ve been a bit silent on the blogging front recently, I’ve been editing some (over 100!) photos for a post that I’m working on, and I’ve been applying for a job!

I’ve realised

1) that I might have to break my massive 100-photo-post down into a few (or lots of) posts to make it more manageable and

2) I might run out of photo storage space on WordPress!  What happens then?  Am I banned from participating in any more photo challenges? Continue reading

I am Legend!

Well at least I think I am!

Many sleepless nights ago (about 9 to be honest) we finally accepted that the home computer really had died, and that much as I love my children, I did not want them hogging my laptop 24/7, so we set out on a venture to the brave new world of computer buying. Continue reading

Greylag Goose

Today I was taking photos of Wilson playing stick at one of his favourite beaches on the Thames near our house, and I saw some lovely geese.  Our common geese are the larger Canada Geese so it is nice to see others.  These ones seemed to want to be photographed today 🙂

The River Thames at Weybridge

I’m just testing.

My WordPress media library is getting full. Can I save photos to Flickr and then load them from here?

I’m in the middle of a post about Egypt which is getting complicated cos I’m not happy with how the slideshows are displaying. Maybe if I upload the photos to Flickr instead then I will be able to run the slideshows how I would like?

Watch this space….

Weekly Photo Challenge: Future? Tense!

My friend has cancer

I met David on my ‘Secondary Maths Teacher Training Postgraduate degree course.  There were a lot of us, I was in the ‘mature’ student group with teenage children and housework to get home to,  and David was young and child free so we didn’t hang out together or anything but I couldn’t help notice him,  he is a born teacher, full of ideas, enthusiasm and a passion for Maths, football and music.

In group presentations his influence was evident, his excitement shone, he always had us in stitches when explaining a concept, or providing feedback from some teamwork.

I got to know David a lot better when he got Cancer.  Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (T-Cell) to be specific.

David always has a really positive attitude, but for him, his family and friends, the future is very tense

David always has a really positive attitude towards anything that life throws him, but for David, his family and friends, living under the shadow of  Leukaemia, the future is very tense

The Big Egg Hunt

When I decided that I would be able to go to Dublin for my Dad’s 70th Birthday I only wanted to do one other thing while I was there.  My friend Gillian from primary school is a Creative Designer and she was asked by Lily O’Brien’s chocolatiers to design their egg for the Big Egg Hunt.
