We have a small proper sized tree too, we bought it with roots so have planted it in a huge pot & are hoping to be able to keep using it for a few years, Until it gets to heavy to bring into the house!

We had a tree in a pot for a few years that we brought in for the festive few days. It survived until we had one very severe winter. Remember we are way north of you – parallel with Scotland.

True, the little one is definitely an indoor plant, it’s not actually a Christmas Tree at all, Peter says its something like kryptomeria but he’s not sure. We just need to replant them into bigger pots after Christmas and keep them watered.
Our last live tree survived in our garden so well that it completely took over the middle of the garden! Much too big to bring into the house now. The new live one should do well as long as it settles ok in it’s current pot. You would expect Christmas Trees to survive cold winters, they do come from Scandinavia!!

You should be able to find little ones like this in garden centres, they sell lots of ornamental evergreens that could survive a few weeks indoors, and if you manage to keep it alive till next year then it is as environmentally sound as an artificial tree.
