Spring has sprung!

One of the best things about taking a holiday in January, is that you get to miss January in the UK.  When we left it had been raining for weeks, and although the sun wasn’t setting until 4.30pm, it was dark enough at 2pm to turn on the lights.  We hear that it has been like that the whole time we were away, so we really did pick the right time this year to leave Europe!

Crocuses Now the sun has appeared and spring flowers are all over our garden!

DaffodilsCrocusCrocusesBegeniasI found out today that about 10 days ago the army turned up in the middle of the night and sand-bagged the back gardens of the houses across the road from us.  (see my post on Oatlands Palace for some maps of our area) We thought the water was getting close!  Good to know that we would have been OK for another few inches at least!

These are so lovely. Just a question…sort of. Maybe you would consider going in to your dashboard and allowing your posts to be seen whole in the reader. I only mention it because when I am away I take my kindle and use that. I have to really fiddle to get to see your whole post as I use the reader on it…just a thought. It is so much easier when using the reader to be able to scroll right through a post, comment, etc.

      Hiya

The short posts were a deliberate decision on my part as when you go to my home page you can scroll quickly through from one post to the next without having to scroll through each one on its entirety.

When I visit other peoples home pages I prefer if they are laid out like that, but I didn’t realise it made things messy for mobile devices 😦

I’ll have to have a think!

I thought the same thing once…about the setup. But I see lots more people are using their mobile devices these days. I have to admit it wasn’t until I did that I realised how much easier it makes it…I seem to comment a lot more with it, probably because it is not only handy but immediate. But we all have to set things up to suit our way.

I’ll leave it for now but i might try & have a word with WordPress about it. I know the way the posts show up in newsfeeds has recently changed, the posts show up as stand alone items, separate from the blog while in the past if you clicked on a post it brought you straight to that persons blog. I preferred it that way as you got to find out more about a blogger by visiting their site, but it’s probably much more mobile-friendly to have it the other way

Your garden is months ahead of those around me. We are still at the snow drops & crocus stage the daffodil greens are about two inches, they might appear by Easter if the wind and rain ever retires.

i did cheat a bit… these are dwarf daffodils! the full size ones won’t be out for a while, and the tulips are hiding too in case of frost. I think it will need to get a lot warmer before we see them
